A novel about an earthy man set against the background of the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ, and written while this Baltimore-born journalist, novelist, and playwright was still a skeptic. He later became a convert to Catholicism and wrote a best-selling life of Christ. As "Anthony Abbot" he wrote ten better than average crime novels and two collections of crime stories.
