A World War I nautical novel and an uncommon book in first edition. Based on the tragedy of the battle-cruiser Invincible, Admiral Hood's flagship and the pride of the RN, blown up 31 May, 1916, during the battle of Jutland. 1026 men were lost, only 6 survived. The novel takes four fictional sailors and traces their lives from before the war to the day of calamity.
