Edition: First Canadian issue
Toronto: Macmillan, 1925. Red cloth spine and purple cloth covers, red top edge. Small damp spot and soft vertical creases to spine; gilt spine lettering dull; front free endpaper has a 1929 ink inscription and some small dark spots to inner margin; foxing to page edges and to text, especially early and late; fading to red top page edges; corner creases to one leaf; crack to gutter of half-title leaf neatly repaired; else a good jacketless copy. An uncommon issue, made from sheets of the 1925 Knopf edition, which was the first separate edition. (The 1925 UK edition included The Princess). There were 3000 copies of the US edition, but likely only a few hundred of this Canadian issue. Not noted by Robers A31b.
