Page edges da rkened; damp stain to lower outer corner of many leaves; some yellowing, light foxing to text; stab holes to inner margins from original binding; in all a VG tight copy. TWO LETTERS is the first (authorized) edition, first impression, second issue ( Todd 66c). It doesn't have the four leaf insert after page 155 (rarely present in the first nine "editions") and the catchword on p. 156 is "foundest". Todd 66b notes that there are 50 possible arrangements of the variants in this book. A THIRD LETTER is Todd 71c, first edition, third issue.
