SNOOTY BARONET. Edited by Bernard Lafourcade.
Edition: First of this edition
Santa Barbara, CA: Black Sparrow Press, 1984. Maroon cloth spine with paper label and colour printed boards, yellow endpapers, in plain acetate wrapper. ADVANCE COPY FOR REVIEW, used by the Canadian distributor The Paget Press, with laid in Paget Press press release and a Paget Press review slip pasted to the front free endpaper. Canadian publication date given as March, 1984. Light dust soiling to page edges; owing to a binding error, the text from pp 261 to end is a bit jumped (possibly the distributor deliberately chose to use up this copy for a free review copy); the acetate wrapper is a bit rubbed; nice copy otherwise. There were only 400 copies of this trade hardcover issue. This edition adds an afterword, notes, and variant readings to the text of the 1932 first edition. The character Rob McPhail was based on poet Roy Campbell.
