Front inner hinge and rear joint neatly and unobtrusively repaired with rice paper; chips to spine tips, with most label lettering rubbed away; ink name to front free endpaper; corner torn away from rear free endpaper; one inch tear to bottom margin of pp 15-16 (no text affected); tan stain to pp 102-07 from a floral specimen once laid in (no legibility affected); a few scattered minor tan spots in text; the text is otherwise clean, tight and unworn. Lamb's third juvenile published by Godwin, he intended it to be a continuation of Fénelon's Adventures of Telemachus and he acknowledges drawing on Chapman's Homer.
