Spine label tanned and lightly rubbed, with small chips at head; two small splits to joints; spine very lightly sunned; plates have light foxing, with some puckering to the paper from the pasting-in of the photos; else a near fine copy, hinges not cracked. With the pencil ownership signature of Roger Senhouse, British publisher, translator, and Lytton Strachey's last lover.. A selection from Addison & Steele's THE TATLER (first pub. 1710-11), illustrated with actual photographs, though since they are of engravings, they seem to have been employed for novelty more than anything else.
