Spine only very lightly darkened, with red fleur-de-lys device sunned; two tiny brown spots on rear cover; neat ink private owner name at top margin of front free endpaper; frontispiece map creased at fore edge; front free endpaper and early leaves show an indentation from the frontispiece map; else a fine, bright and tight, unusually nice copy of WSC's 4th book. Cohen A.4.3.a. Made from either sheets or plates of the 1900 US edition, though the binding is different (similar, but not exactly the same, as the UK edition). This Canadian issue is scarcer than either the UK or US editions.
