Rebound in modern blue buckram. Ink digits at bottom of Contents page and last page, else a mainly fine, clean, tight and unworn copy, no owner names. Dana was Professor of Geology and Mineralogy at Yale and a member of the Wilkes U.S. Exploring Expedition. of 1838-42, which visited the Tuamotus, the Societies, Samoa, Tonga, and Fiji. The steel engravings are after A.T. Agate (Utiroa, Cocoanut Grove at Fakaafo or Bowditch Island, Scene at Oatafu Island). 1.5 kg parcel
