Tidy ink owner name at top margin of front free endpaper, with 1979 ink date on the other side; 9 Dec. 1924 ink ownership name on half-title leaf; half inch closed tear at top margin of half-title and title leaves; yellowing to page edges; old clumsy broad tape repair to rear inner hinges has been removed, but leaving evidence, the hinge now neatly repaired with rice paper; light rubbing at spine ends, with gilt lettering dulled; clipped author portrait pasted to verso of front free endpaper; in all, a good, clean, and now tight jacketless copy of the author's FIRST BOOK (excluding a 1920 offprint), written while he was still a Harvard undergraduate. Edition of 2K copies, of which 500 were remaindered. Bruccoli A2.Scarce in first edition.
