In a poor dust jacket, which lacks the bottom two inchs of spine; has a large skinned spot to spine across rear panel; other chips, tears, old internal repairs. The Canadian author's only novel, about a traveling European circus, it won a Governor-General's Award. It was co-written (or possibly ghost written) with Canadian author Edmund Fancott, though he is not credited. Bambrick was a classical harpist who play with John Philip Sousa's band 1920-30 as well as with a traveling circus for three years. During her career she gave over 1,000 concerts in Europe, North America, India, and Cuba. .Scarce in any sort of jacket.
