Yellowing to page edges, light toning to text paper, else fine, no owner names Thin dust jacket has a two inch tear with long crease to dusty rear panel; narrow green pen stroke through flap price; one inch tear to bottom spine fold; two inch scratch to front panel; VG otherwise, no fading, still attractive. The author's second novel, an historical tale of Gerrard Winstanley and the Diggers in 17th century England. The Diggers set up a commune on St, George's Hill in Surrey. Naturally, the government was against them, Cromwell sending General Fairfax to suppress them. The name "Diggers" was resurrected in San Francisco in the 1960s. Basis of the 1975 Kevin Brownlow and Andrew Molle film "Winstanley". This first printing is scarce.
