Full white stiff pictorial parchment ("vellum"), spine lettered and decorated in gilt, front cover illustration in gilt and purple, top edges gilt, others rough trimmed. pp (128) + frontispiece and 11 other colour plates + 12 black & white or black on cream plates, 8 with tissue guards. Vignette illustrations in text. Covers quite splayed, as usual with full "vellum" bindings; tissue guards tanned, with some light offsetting to facing pages; else fine, no flaking to the cover stamping, no owner names, no creases to the plates or tissues, but lacking the slipcase. Contributions by Belloc, Brooke, Chesterton, De La Mare, Graves ("Star-Talk"), Hardy, Masefield ("Sea Fever" and two others), Edward Thomas, Yeats ("The Fiddler of Dooney" and "The Lake Isle at Innisfree") and many others of note. A lovely book, with excellent illustrations by the brilliant Irish stained glass artist and book illustrator who was a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement. 1.5 kg parcel
