IT'S A BATTLEFIELD
Edition: First printing
London: Heinemann, 1934. Octavo, black cloth. Spine faded to light grey, with a few very small dark flecks at bottom, a near fine clean, tight and unworn copy otherwise, no owner names, lacking the very scarce dust jacket. Wobbe A6a notes that in this, a serious novel, his first overtly political novel, and not one of his "entertainments", Greene begins to develope the cinematic techniques which were a feature of much of his later writing. He also notes that, for a time, the text was changed after the first edition, and including the first American edition. Scarce in first edition.
