First five blank leaves have been cut out, otherwise fine. Rubber stamped on all 3 page edges is "DUMMY". Beneath the title on cover label is "(TITLE TO BE CHANGED)". Rubber stamped at bottom of label is "Oct 14 191? [5? 6?]". The label gives a long synopsis of the book. The novel was published in London in 1915 as GUY AND PAULINE and in NY in 1915 as PLASHERS MEAD. It was the fourth of his many novels. A rare prepublication form of the book.
