THE WRONG PEOPLE
Edition: First US revised edition
New York: McGraw-Hill, 1971. Red cloth & yellow boards. Fine in fine jacket. Originally published 1967 as a paperback original under a pseudonym, then in this revised text by Heinemann in London in 1970. This copy is of the second state, with a printed copyright notice tipped in over the original one, which wrongly gives copyright date as 1971 instead of 1970. A novel with a sexual theme, like most of his novels. Tangier, expatriate homosexuals, an Arab boy... Maugham was bisexual.
