Edition: First Canadian issue
Toronto: William Briggs, 1905. Blue grey cloth gilt. pp 384 + reddish brown frontispiece with tissue guard and 7 other plates by Maurice Greiffenhagen. Mild rubbing to spine ends; several short dark streaks to front cover; cracked inner hinges neatly repaired; tidy ink owner at front; text paper a little toned as always; else a VG clean, tight and unworn copy, gilt bright. The sequel to his very popular SHE (1887). "Guided by a vision, an Englishman and his companion search the mountains of Asia for the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian priestess." For the record, Haggard says the name is pronounced "Assha".
