Light rubbing to foot of spine, a very small light spots on covers, VG otherwise. Laid in is a 1929 printed card from the company announcing that Mr. Glass has died. Autobiography of this British businessman (Ormiston & Glass, purveyors of fine leather goods and pens, London). Quite a tale of adventures around the world. Sections on Canada and China, three on Australia. The end of the China section describes torture and execution with dry rice, the early section on his grandfather's Edinburgh describes an auction of old books. The buyers didn't realize it was a falling market, that the love of old books was going out of style (it still is !). ; Octavo
