Price-clipped jacket has nicks, small tears and very small chips, VG otherwise. Inscribed by the author "for two very fine people Peggy and George Jacobson, with best wishes and with thanks for an Arctic trip I shall never forget. Fred Bodsworth, August, 1960". A novel about a barnacle goose from the Scottish island of Barra blown across the ocean to the James Bay area of northern Canada, where it somehow finds a mate. A young naturalist and a young Cree women become involved, with the goose and each other. The novel was originally to be called THE STRANGE ONE OF BARRA but there was a last minute title change. Something of a modern Canadian nature classic. ; Signed by Author
