Biography of this Canadian medical missionary to China 1900-49. Pioneerin in X-ray, radium, family planning, and rural medicine, during the Sino-Japanese War he was Field Director for the International Red Cross in North and Central China before going to the Burma Road to take command of a Quaker amulance unit staffed by pacifists. While McClure is following the dictates of his conscience Chinese Nationalist soldiers attempt to execute him, the Japanese put a price on his head, the Chinese Communists black-list him, and Canada's Prime Minister, Mackenzie King, threatens to throw him in gaol.
