A comprehensive international review of approximately 8,000 species of weeds, compiling geographic distributions for the countries or areas where a species is known to occur as a weed of serious, principal, common, or unknown seriousness (ranking provided by a weed scientist from that country), or where it is present in the general flora but not known to act as a weed. Updates all taxonomy, uses scientific (Latin) names throughout, brings nomenclature into agreement with present-day usage, and gives up to three of the most common synonyms for each plant.
