DOWN AND OUT IN PARIS AND LONDON.
AUTHOR'S FIRST BOOK. Mauve cloth, black & green illustrated endpapers. Unusually, no fading to the spine and no toning to the text paper; 1934 in name and date on verso of half-title leaf; else a fine copy, lacking the very scarce dust jacket. Both the UK and US editions were published Jan., 1933. There were only 1500 copies of the UK edition, and only 1750 of this US edition, making both scarce today. Orwell's wonderfully readable and comic first book.
