The UK (Grant Richards) issue was made from US sheets. Jessie Georgina Sime (1868-1958) was a Scottish-born suffragist, feminist, social activist, and writer who moved to Montreal in 1907. She spent most of her adult life in Canada. Nicholson was a librarian at Edinburgh University. The present book, a novel of realizm set in a poorer section of downtown Montreal, portrays the life of a working class woman trying to cope. It was reprinted in 1994 by Tecumseht Press. ; Octavo
