The rise and fall of prohibition;: The human side of what the Eighteenth Amendment and the Volstead Act have done to the United States
Edition: First printing
New York: Macmillan, 1923. Black cloth. pp (xii), 220 + 4 good b&w illustrations by noted comid illustrator Peter Newell. Front inner hinge repaired with rice paper tape; yellowing to page edges and endpapers and a bit to text; damp stain to blank lower outer corners throughout; small holes to bottom blank margin of pp 89-94; else a VG unworn copy. In the scarce dust jacket, which has a Newell illustration on the front panel; small chips to spine ends and outer corners; short tears; large chip to outer corner of blank rear panel; internal spotting and soiling; in all, just fair, but spine and front panel show well. A comic critical approach.
