Wood and steel engravings from original drawings by Harry Fenn and J.D. Woodward. Vol I: pp , (2, title in red and black), x, 480, including index + frontispiece, half-title and and 18 other steel engravings with tissue guards; numerous wood engravings in text. Vol. II: pp , (2, title in red and black), x, 476, including index + frontispiece, half-title, and 19 other steel engravings + double-page colour map at front and at rear; numerous wood engravings in text. A bit of rubbing here and there to the leather now neatly touched up, leather dressing applied. Quite a nice copy, joints and hinges not cracked, tight in the binding, no owner marks, of a book which, because of weight and use, is pretty often somewhat worn.
