Title leaf and 32 other leaves of photos, all printed rectos only. A few small brown spots to fore margin of front cover; inner hinges cracked but firm; text paper a little toned; slight wear to outer corners; else a VG or a bit better clean and unworn copy. With 1994 Christmas gift inscription at front from noted Barbadian-Canadian novelist Austin C. Clarke, giving the book to distinguished Canadian novelist and short story writer Leon Rooke, with Rooke's signature at top of title page. Issued ca 190-? Production by the Albertype Co., Brooklyn, NY. Views of a levee scene on Carnival Day, Canal Street, sugar refineries, St. Louis Cathedral, the French market, French opera house, Rex float Mardi Gras, other floats, a cotton compress, Tulane University, St. Roch's Cemetery, landmarks of the French Quarter, and more. Louisiana State University has a similar item with same pagination but not the same measurements published New York : A. Witteman ; New Orleans, La. : F.F. Hansell & Bro., booksellers, copyright 1902, but does not have this one.
