Boston: Little, Brown, 1947. The correct first edition, binding variant. Light yellowing to page edges and endpapers, else fine. Dust jacket (art by George F. Kelley) is price-clipped and chipped along the top of the front panel, head of spine, and top of the rear panel; light sunning and yellowing to spine; small chip at foot of spine; just good. The US edition was published 10 days before the Toronto edition and the text is some 7000 words shorter. This copy is in the darker brown binding. Priority, if any, unknown to me.
