Dorothy Choate Herriman (1901-1978) poet and artist, was born in Lindsay, Ontario. She was the daughter of Dr. William Choate Herriman and Nellie Williams. She was educated at the Model School in Toronto and at the Ontario College of Art. Herriman served as the secretary to the Canadian Authors' Association. Her only book, a collection of poetry.
