LE GRAND ÉCART. Translated from the French by Lewis Galantiere.
Edition: First edition in English
London: Putnam's, 1925. Black cloth gilt lettered, black topstain. Gilt spine lettering a bit dulled, with some flaking; small hole to front gutter touched up and now noticable only with effort; endpapers lightly tanned from binding; else fine. The lilac jacket is sunned to panels and spine, as would be expected; shallow chip (no lettering affected) across the head of the bit foxed and age-darkened spine; long split to front spine fold internally repaired with clear archival paper tape; fron t panel has light foxing, age darkening to margins and two small damp spots; in all still VG and attractive. Cocteau's second novel in English, most uncommon in dust jacket.
