Two digit ink number to upper outer corner of front free endpaper; light tanning to fore and top page edges; the usual hairline crack to inner hinges but the binding is still quite tight; else a fine copy of this cheaply m ade book. The white dust jacket is yellowed, lightly rubbed and dust soiled; nicks and tiny chips to spine tips; crease to front flap; half inch tear and nicks to panels; still generally VG and respectable in appearance, flap price intact. AUTHOR'S SECOND BOOK, same year as her first. Woods has long lived in Nova Scotia, Canada, where she began writing, but has set all of her novels in her native England.
