Bound in contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt decorated with label, all edges red, marbled endpapers. Spine has shallow chip at head, small chip to upper rear joint, small chip about 0.5 on a side to middle of front joint; front joint partially cracked but covers quite firmly attached, inner hinges not cracked. In all, externally good, internally fine, no owner names. Title page vignette and 23 finely engraved head and tale pieces by J.B.M. Pierre, engraved by the author. Watelet was an amateur…

Tidy ink owner name in each volume, volume I has corner creases to first blank leaf, volume II has a crease to rear free endpaper, minor rubbing to spine tips and outer corners, else a fine pair, fancy covers very bright.
