"An autobiographical journey springing out of the blind conjunction of such events as Christ's April crucifixion, death, and resurrection by A-bomb, and the author's own birth." The African-American beat poet's first or second separate book, his ABOMUNIST MANIFESTO also published by City Lights in 1959. Speaks of Kerouac speaking French and having been noticed by Pierre Trudeau. Will sell him a copy of JACK'S BOOK when shipment arrives. Mardou's real name was not used. Speaks about other Kerouac related publications. Shooting for the film "Heartbeat" will start in Sepember, but he doesn't plan to watch it. John Montgomery (1919-1992) was a beat poet and friend of Kerouac. He appears in DESOLATION ANGELS as "Alex Fairbrother" and in THE DHARMA BUMS as Henry Morley.
