Spine very slightly sunned with slight wear at head neatly repaired, scattered foxing in text, a bit leaned, VG otherwise. Stephens came to Canada from Northern Ireland as a boy and became the Collector of Customs in Owen Sound, Ontario. As a writer, he "became a public phenomenon by the ease and frequency with which he composed impromtu verses in an eighteenth-century manner.
