A condensed version of Vom heutigen Kriege (1912). General von Bernhardi was the epitome of Prussian militarism. He advocated a policy of ruthless aggression and complete disregard of treaties and regarded war as a "divine business". His kind caused millions of lost lives in the muddy hell of WWI, but the general himself died in bed at age 80.
