This was the first imitation in Upper Canada (Ontario) of the American and British "Family Library" series of small books on various subjects sold at a low price which were quite popular at the time. The four books chosen for the Canadian edition were numbers 6,7,9, and 10 in Murray's Family Library series in Britain.

Generally VG externally, fine internally, tight in the binding, no previous owner marks. I believe this offprint is about agricultural fields at higher elevations in Bavaria in Roman times. Scarce.
