Jacket has nicks, small rubbed spot to head of spine; two short edge tears internally mended; faint tanning to spine and rear panel; else fine, the colours bright. A sequel to her first novel BY THE LAKE, continuing the story of Robert Stairey in the years 1931-41. Dick was a very difficult, vengeful, lesbian author of talent who never lived up to her promise and managed to alienate almost all who tried to help her.

The US edition was published 24 July, 1936, and contained 9 of these 11 stories and added 3 new ones. This Canadian edition possibly preceded the US edition.
