Period private bookplate inside front cover; spine lightly darkened; small bumps to lower outer corners of covers; nearly fine otherwise, clean, tight and unworn, hinges not cracked. Watters p. 917. Story p. 371. The author emigrated from Scotland to Summerside, P.E.I. in 1875, where he became editor of the Summerside "Progress". He was federal inspector of fisheries 1879-1889. He wrote this and one other non-fiction book, as well as drama and better than average poetry. Nice copy of a scarce book.
