Cream dust jacket has faint soiling; nicks and short creased tear along top edge of rear panel; VG otherwise. First published 1977 in paper covers only in an edition of 2 k copies. The publisher had intended for some to be cloth bound, but owing to "a failure to communicate" the entire first printing was bound in paper. This unindicated second printing was done in 1980 in a print run of 750 copies, of which 550 copies were for Canada, the remainder going to George Prior for the UK issue. Lewis' previously unpublished first novel, written ca. 1908-10.
