Boston: Tappan and Dennet, 1843. 12mo, original dark brown cloth decorated in blind, front cover gilt lettered, cream endpapers. [2], vi, (7)-148, [2] pp. Chips to spine tips; partial cloth split to front joint neatly repaired; bit of wear and small bruise to lower outer corner of front cover; partial crack to front inner hinge neatly repaired; pencil name to head of title page; scattered foxing in text; else a VG clean copy, tight in the binding. Plumer, Sr., was a Govenor and US Senator from New Hampshire, and Plumer, Jr., served in the House. Both were anti Jackson and pro John Quincy Adams, to whom this volume is dedicated. Plumer, Jr was a vocal opponent of slavery, and the collection contains one poem "Slavery".
