Bound in old calf, spine with raised bands and gilt-decorated compartments, sprinkled page edges. Shallow chips to spine tips; front joint cracked but cover still firmly attached; fingernail-size skinned spot to upper outer corner of front cover; fingernail-size damp spot to top margin of page 529 to end; in all a VG tight copy, text quite clean and unworn, no owner names. Thiers was a respected theologian and writer. This work, which opposes the wearing of wigs by the clergy, has been said to be the first comprehensive book on wigs.
